The Struggle Continues

Gunfire erupts in the small town of PERNIER, plunging the community into chaos as gangs clash with the police. The recent violence has resulted in a staggering death toll of over 15 individuals, with many more reported missing. In response, the authorities have established a strict checkpoint at the town's sole exit, subjecting anyone deemed suspicious to immediate arrest and potential harm, regardless of gender.

The police claim that all residents of PERNIER are affiliated with gangs, a sweeping generalization that fails to acknowledge the diverse circumstances of those who remain in the area. Many individuals have been forced to stay behind, lacking the means to flee and facing the grim reality of leaving their homes with nothing but the clothes on their backs. The stranglehold of the gang members over transportation has effectively trapped these remaining residents in the crossfire between opposing forces, creating a harrowing and uncertain existence.

At the checkpoint, law enforcement officers conduct invasive searches, targeting individuals with tattoos as presumed gang members and unleashing brutal tactics without discrimination based on gender. The indiscriminate violence resulting from this new policing strategy has claimed the lives of numerous innocent civilians in recent weeks, instilling fear and uncertainty among the population.

The arbitrary association of tattoos with criminality highlights the grave consequences of superficial judgments in a community already ravaged by conflict and instability.
